Only 3 years, that is what I keep telling myself.

Only 3 years...that is what I keep telling myself. Three years is nothing compared to the 10 years I put it off.

I started my 1st year of OT school last month, and already I have learned so much. No longer am I taking "Karate" for a gym credit, or "Intro to Theater" for an art elective; I am taking classes that are preparing me for my future profession. I have always enjoyed school and learning (post high school), but now I LOVE it!

In the last couple of weeks I have done:
-An occupational analysis on my mother and her incredible card making.
-An activity and an activity analysis on a marrionette project (picture posted shortly).
-Problem solved 2 case studies in a small group.
-Explored adaptive equipement for a particular person factor: mine was Peripheral Vision Loss (check out the photo with the modified frames I am wearing, that mimic peripheral vision loss).
-Learned to use a wheelchair independently, and reflect on the experience.

Over the next 3 years I am going to blog about my many OT learning adventures. Please join me on my journey...and if you are on this journey yourself, drop me a note.

That's awesome! Can't wait to walk this journey with you. You're going to live for the next three years . . . may as well have a degree at the end of it. Congrats to you, friend! Go Katies!
